Mrs. Jennifer Mercedes

Hello Shiloh Generals!
My name is Jennifer Mercedes. I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to be working with you all to help our students grow and learn.

I received my Undergraduate and Master's degrees from The University of Georgia in Early Childhood Education and Educational Administration and Policy, respectively.  I taught in Honduras for three years and worked with Migrant Students in Clarke County.  In Gwinnett County, I taught first grade for seven years and worked with Kindergarten to Fifth-grade students as an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Early Intervention Program (EIP) teacher for four years.

My career at Shiloh Elementary started as an Assistant Principal in August 2018.  During this time, I have been able to build authentic relationships with staff, students, and many community members.  We show our "Shiloh PRIDE" as we address the social, emotional, and academic needs of each and every student.  As Principal, I am eager to work together with parents, students, and staff to continually work toward building a stronger community that celebrates our diversity and supports our school’s vision and mission.

At Shiloh Elementary, we have a focus on providing academic opportunities including, but not limited to: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Gifted, Multilingual Learners, Early Intervention Programs, Health, PE, Art, Music, and STEM.  We also provide extracurricular activities through different clubs, student leadership opportunities, and special events both during and after the school day.

As parents, please make sure you are connected to Parent Square, the Parent VUE app, and “MyPaymentsPlus”.  Communication is key, and we look forward to working with you.

B.B. King once said, “The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it from you.”  This is the foundation that builds our students and communities to strive for their goals and dreams.   I know Shiloh Elementary is leading the way!  My door is open, so feel free to stop by.  Together, we can pave a clear path to success for all.

Mrs. Franeka Colley

Hello Generals Family!

I am Franeka Colley, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Shiloh community as an Assistant principal. I am a proud Atlanta native and started my career in Dekalb County as a middle school teacher. I have served as an academic administrator for special programs, as a program specialist at the Georgia Department of Education, but the experiences that are closest to my heart are the years spent as a teacher-leader right here in GCPS at Lilburn Middle School and Couch Middle School.

I received a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, a Master’s degree in Behavior Disorders and Learning Disabilities from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Georgia Southern University. I also received my leadership certification from Valdosta State University and a dyslexia endorsement from Georgia College and State University.

My door is always open if you need anything, and I am excited to partner with families to build strong minds, strong hearts, and a strong Shiloh Elementary community.

Here's to an awesome year!
